Exploring Munich
On my free day in Munich, I decided to visit the Neuschwanstein Castle. The castle is a 19th century Romanesque Revival palace in southwest Bavaria, Germany. The palace originally was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria and homage to Richard Wagner. On my tour, I discovered that Ludwig was mysteriously murdered and after his death, the palace was open to the public. Neuschwanstein Castle inspired Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle, which can be seen in previous fairytale films. While the tour group was unable to take photographs inside the castle, we saw several rooms including the kitchen, Ludwig's bedroom and the throne hall.
I wanted to experience the Neuschwanstein Castle because I had seen it in several pictures and always dreamt of entering the castle on day. One of my favorite movies was Sleeping Beauty, so I was excited to see the resemblance from the princess' castle and the Neuschwanstein Castle.
